Bushes: "As you go down the line, the blood thins"

Thu Sep 16, 2004 at 05:41:16 PM PDT

Kitty Kelley says nearly everyone of the 900+ people she interviewed agree with this premise about the Bush family line:

"As you go down the line, the blood thins"

I just listened to Kitty Kelley talk about her book "The Family" on CSPAN.
(Here's a link to the video, but personally I can't get CSPAN's streaming video to run on my pc.)

Holy Crap!  How much does Kitty Kelley have on the Bushes?  She acknowledges the FAMILY's mafia-like hold over the media, over almost everything including the FRICKING Smithsonian Institute (that one was Barbara Bush)!

It's not just W doing drugs at Camp David, and not just HW Bush's Mistresses.

It seems that this book is about a family that began with strong and honorable people 100 years back which disintegrated into a power hungry tribe.  Sort of like when an honorable warrior wins the throne of England from a tyrant.  Then three generations down, his family, having never had to fight for anything, has become a bunch of rich sniveling brats who know nothing of the real world but hold on to power like oxygen.

If you can watch or listen to the interview somewhere, do so.  Her actual talk is mainly about how she gets her interviews and stories about some people she's talked to.

But if you skip to the Question and Answer segment, that's where all the stuff comes out.  Only just a taste of it, but its strong.

She is absolutely not bowing down.  And she says she has four different teams of lawyers that have all poured over every word in this book.

She probably can't be touched by legal means.
Which, of course, is no problem for the Bush family, it seems.

  •  I saw this too, (none / 1)

and have to say I find her to be mighty impressive.  Cool as can be, in command of her facts, and with a great sense of humor.

I'm going to buy the book.  Just to do my bit to piss off The Family.

have always been kinda gossipy and salacious, so at least there's nothing new there.

I suppose it'll only solidify already held beliefs that Bush sucks or that she's a gossip-monger. It could swing a few - for lack of a better stereotype - "bored housewives" who may read it (her usual demographic), but I doubt it unless some other source verifies her allegations.
