I am continuing the drumbeat begun by
fas on 7/7
("
Bush has MISMANAGED war on terror")
I feel the same dread and anger as I did on 9/11.
My anger is mainly at the terrorists who have ripped innocent lives from the face of the Earth.
We should have chased the terrorists down after 9/11 and prevented this travesty in London from happening.
But now we must face facts:
The GOP has DROPPED THE BALL.
They stopped caring about terrorism YEARS AGO:
And in The United States:
The Republican leadership has now been proven incompetent as they neglected security and safety for civilians and have NOT COMBATTED REAL TERRORISTS.
It is obvious now that those terrorists are operating as openly as they were before 9/11. And they are being IGNORED by the United States.
WHY?
- Why did we not, from September 2001, have a co-ordinated and continuous effort to root out and capture REAL TERRORRISTS?
- Why did we not STICK TO THE PLAN!
- Why did we turn away from the HARD JOB of finding real terrorists, then sacrifice so many men and women, so much time, money, and energy, on a war against a country known to harbor NO TERRORISTS?
- Why did we CREATE a whole NEW country to house and train terrorists.
- Why are the terrorists still able to strike around the world at greater numbers than ever before?
- Why did the Republican leadership let this happen?
Bush and every Republican Congressman who did not voice a concern should feel responsible. But they won't.
These bastards danced over the graves of dead Americans, lying about their commitment to safety and security and lying about GOING AFTER THE TERORRISTS, only so they could gain power for their own financial gain. And now, for a moment forgetting the 1700+ dead Americans in Iraq, we now have dead Brits.
This judgment may sound harsh.
If there had been any evidence that the Republican Congress was REALLY trying to stop terrorists, then this judgment would be unfair.
But it is now openly clear that they simply closed their eyes and hoped - if they clapped their hands real hard - that this would never happen again.
But it did.
